IUC Pipeline Safety Conference 2025

The Iowa Utilities Commission (IUC), formerly known as the Iowa Utilities Board, is a state agency responsible for regulating utility rates and services, as well as overseeing infrastructure related to pipelines and electric transmission lines in Iowa.

Originally established in 1878 as the Iowa Board of Railroad Commissioners, the agency has continuously evolved to meet the changing demands of utility regulation.

The IUC's mission is to ensure that utility services are delivered safely, reliably, and at fair rates, striking a balance between consumer interests and industry needs.

As part of its dedication to safety and best practices in the utility sector, the IUC, in collaboration with the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration's (PHMSA) Inspector Training and Qualifications (TQ) Division, is hosting a two-day Pipeline Safety Conference, with participation from PTS. This event provides utility professionals with the latest updates on state and federal pipeline safety regulations and offers a platform for engaging with industry representatives, as well as IUC pipeline inspectors and investigators.
