Aerial Power Line Inspection with IR (Infrared) and UV (Ultraviolet / Corona) cameras
|Time:||10:00 a.m. to approx. 14:30 p.m.|
|Location:||Northwest Helicopters, LLC
1000 85th Ave SE, Olympia, WA 98501
Who Should Attend:
Engineers and senior technical personnel involved in inspection of electrical power lines.
This event focuses on the application of aerial IR (infrared) and UV (ultraviolet / corona) inspections on overhead power lines. It will cover best practices for aerial patrols using a four sensor gimbal to find thermal hot spots, partial discharges / arcing and other faults on distribution and transmission lines.
To keep the event practical, we will equip a Bell 206 JetRanger helicopter with the latest technology – the FLIR / Polytech C350 system – and inspect nearby power lines. The captured data will be reviewed and analyzed afterwards.
Remarks: Depending on weather the demo flight may be canceled and a static demo will be provided.
